National Conversations
Capitalizing on its convening power, the Center launched The National Conversation, a new series to engage high-profile experts on important public policy issues. Since 2011, installments have included thought-provoking discussions on national security and the federal budget crisis. The June 20 installment “Cybersecurity in Your Neighborhood: Why Public-Private Partnership Matter” featured Janet Napolitano who gave keynote remarks about the nation’s infrastructure and how to make it more resilient in the 21st Century. She was joined in a panel discussion moderated by Tom Gjeltan, Correspondent for National Public Radio, which included Francis X. Taylor, Vice President and Chief Security Officer for the General Electric Company, Michael Chertoff, Co-Founder and Managing Principal for the Chertoff Group and Stephen Flynn, Founding Co-Director of the George J. Kostas Research Institute for Homeland Security at Northeastern University. Future Conversations will be held in Washington D.C. and in cities around the country. RETURN
