The Middle East Dialogue, hosted by the Wilson Center’s Middle East Track II Dialogues Initiative, met in Istanbul, Turkey to explore regional political and security dynamics. This meeting brought together policymakers and senior experts from across the Middle East & North Africa (MENA) region, including the Gulf states, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, and Turkey.
This moderator’s report provides a series of briefs (region and country-specific) as a summary of the discussions and highlights issues discussed, as well as specific recommendations put forward by dialogue participants. Recommendations were provided during (not exclusively) the country and issue-specific discussions as relevant. This report is compiled as separate standalone briefs that collectively provide an overview of the region through the lens of specified issues and countries.
